CONCEPT
of the International Web Forum «Children’s Right to Education: Relevance, Continuity and Innovation in a Pandemic» timed to the World Children’s Day
The epidemiological crisis caused by the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic that gripped the world and affected all spheres of public life on a global scale, demonstrated the existence in the international community of a number of problems in response to the pandemic, including in the sphere of children’s rights to education.
The pandemic crisis poses a serious risk to move the global community from achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and all of its goals and targets, including Goal 4 – «Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote life-long learning opportunities for all».
In the context of the global nature of the threat of a pandemic to human well-being, special priority should be given to expanding the international cooperation in overcoming the negative consequences of the pandemic.
Comprehensive support to families, women and children, as well as protecting and safeguarding their rights are a priority direction of state social policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The implementation of effective measures in these areas has become even more relevant and has intensified during the global coronacrisis.
The large-scale reforms under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev are primarily aimed at creating the enabling legal, social and economic conditions for realizing human potential and capabilities in the modern world.
In this regard, in the context of celebrating the World Children’s Day, the International Web Forum «Children’s Rights to Education: Relevance, Continuity and Innovation in a Pandemic» is being organized in Uzbekistan.
